The Si Se Puede Collective acknowledges the tragic death of Bambi Larson and our hearts go out to her loved ones at this difficult time. At this very difficult and sensitive time for the family and the community, it is incumbent on all of us to wait for the facts to develop. It is important not to rush to judgment. 

In light of today's anticipated vote regarding land use in our communities, our Executive Director has submitted the following letter to the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.

In light of today's anticipated vote regarding land use in our communities, our Executive Director has submitted the following letter to the Mayor’s Office and San Jose City Council.

Organizations across Mayfair take collaboration to a new level, forming the Si Se Puede! Collective that will allow them to easily share vision and resources.

“I’ve learned the importance of good habits and good routines. The most important thing I learned was to not give sugary drinks to my kids--- I was amazed to see the amount of sugar that kids consume in a year.”

In solidarity with our immigrant brothers and sisters at the border, we express our absolute indignation at the violent separation of families at the border.

We celebrated International Workers’ Day with the rest of San Jose yesterday. The youth group focused on gentrification and its effects on working families.

Gracias a la Vida 2018 was a success! Our theme was "Windows of Change," and it was an honor to share the exciting things taking place in Mayfair.

Cesar Chavez’s legacy lives on in Alum Rock! ARUSD continued their annual tradition of organizing an amazing event celebrating the local hero.

Last night we hosted a screening of "Dolores," which documents the life and work of Dolores Huerta. The movie was followed by a panel of mother-daughter duos who shared their own experiences as women in the movement.

With the lack of transparency that the Alum Rock School District Board has shown, a walk out was organized by the Mayfair community involving hundreds of students.

After 10+ years of work with SOMOS Mayfair, our dear friend and colleague Patrick Soricone is off onto his next adventure. Happy retirement!

We hosted a social justice-themed conference at Mathson Middle School, with topics picked by the students themselves. Hundreds of students and over a dozen inspiring leaders participated in this exciting day.

Community organizers, elected officials, teachers, students, concerned residents, and leaders across the business, political, non-profit, and labor industries came together to call for greater accountability from the Alum Rock School District Board.

Over 300 people came out to visit Santa, play games, make arts and crafts, learn about community resources and meet new people.
