Family Resource Center Opens Its Doors
On December 14, thirty-five children opened our ribbon cutting ceremony with a song telling over 200 guests, “1-2-3, You Can Count On Me.”
For the past 20 years, parents and residents have counted on Somos Mayfair to uplift the dreams, power, and leadership of community. And the grand opening of our new flagship Family Resource Center is a testament to our steadfast commitment to the children and families of Mayfair.
This new center, located at Cesar Chavez Elementary School, is a hub for Alum Rock Union School District families and positions Somos to serve over 1,300 families (extending our reach beyond Mayfair) with FIRST 5 evidenced-based and homegrown solutions. The center will serve birth-3rd grade children and their parents, providing them access to resources, high quality programs, and linkages to sister agencies, and leadership development opportunities that uplift parent voice and decision-making.
This milestone would not be possible without the support and commitment of our community (Promotores and resident leaders), partner agencies, and donors. ¡Gracias!
